Leon Bridges announces second and final Melbourne show

Due to unprecedented demand, breakthrough soul artist Leon Bridges today adds a second and final Melbourne show to his upcoming East Coast tour. With the first Melbourne show sold out within minutes of going on sale, Leon will take in Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Monday 18th July, followed by back to back shows at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th July before heading north to play Splendour In The Grass. Tickets to the second Melbourne show will go on sale at 11am 29 July.

Hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, Leon made his debut visit to Australia in January, kicking off 2016 as one of the year’s most talked-about artists after performing spellbinding sold out Sydney and Melbourne headline shows. He returns this July with his six-piece band in tow, ready to wow Australian audiences a second time around with his unique brand of vintage soul-blues-gospel.

Coming Home, Leon’s debut release, earned him a 2016 Grammy Awards nomination for Best R&B Album. He has performed album tracks ‘River’ and ‘Smooth Sailin’ on Saturday Night Live, penned an original track for Will Smith film ‘Concussion’ (‘So Long’ – listen here), collaborated with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis on the stirring single ‘Kevin’, performed live at last year’s American Music Awards, and played a Ray Charles cover for President Barack Obama at the Smithsonian Salutes Ray Charles: In Performance at the White House event. “Bridges' rapid rise is inexplicable until you're in his presence, and you see a performer so rare, so genuine, you realise the music industry has been missing him all along” – The Age
