Leon Bridges sells out tour, adds Ainslie Wills as support

International breakout artist Leon Bridges today announces all dates on his upcoming debut Australian tour are now sold out. Bridges will play a packed-out Metro Theatre in Sydney on 3rd January, followed by back to back Melbourne shows at The Corner Hotel and 170 Russell on 6th and 7th January.

Local melodist Ainslie Wills will join Bridges on all three shows, warming audiences with her striking progressive pop. Wills’ acclaimed six-track EP, ‘Oh The Gold’, was released in September; It’s a stunning collection of intricate synth-drenched songs that showcase Ainslie’s standout vocals, underpinned by the tight production of long-time collaborator Matt Redlich (Holy Holy, Emma Louise). Wills received Australian Music Prize and Melbourne Music Prize nominations for her 2013 album ‘You Go Your Way, I’ll Go Mine’, and has since featured on hit #1 Dads single ‘So Soldier’, touring nationally with the lauded outfit earlier this year.

Leon Bridges continues to propel upwards, collaborating with US hit-maker Macklemore on the emotive new single ‘Kevin’, which was performed to standing ovation at the American Music Awards last week. Watch the powerful performance here. He lends his talent to the soundtrack for the new Will Smith film ‘Concussion’ in the form of soulful track ‘So Long’, which can be heard here, and is set to appear alongside Ryan Gosling on Saturday Night Live on Saturday 5th December.

With an extensive North American headline tour wrapping up this month, Leon Bridges barely has time to catch his breath before heading over to Australia with full band in tow, ready to enthral audiences with the songs from his acclaimed album ‘Coming Home’, and his unique brand of vintage soul-blues-gospel.
